KENYA: Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has fined and closed several petrol stations nationwide for selling adulterated or illegally diverted fuel.
- EPRA conducted 2,713 fuel quality tests across 758 stations between January and March 2026.
- Five stations were found non-compliant, facing penalties including fines up to Ksh435,100 and fuel impoundment.
- Violations included selling petrol mixed with kerosene, fuel with high sulphur, and diverting export-bound fuel for local sale.
