KENYA: Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has fined and closed several petrol stations nationwide for selling adulterated or illegally diverted fuel.

EPRA conducted 2,713 fuel quality tests across 758 stations between January and March 2026.
Five stations were found non-compliant, facing penalties including fines up to Ksh435,100 and fuel impoundment.
Violations included selling petrol mixed with kerosene, fuel with high sulphur, and diverting export-bound fuel for local sale.
