Kenya's Principal Secretary for Petroleum Mohamed Liban, Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Managing Director Joe Sang, and EPRA Director General Daniel Kiptoo have resigned amidst an intensifying investigation into the importation of substandard fuel.

• The officials were arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for allegedly manipulating fuel stock data and breaching the Government-to-Government (G2G) fuel supply framework.
• The subpar fuel was reportedly sourced outside the established G2G framework and purchased at inflated prices, violating emergency procurement procedures.
• The probe was initiated after preliminary findings suggested senior officials created a false impression of an impending shortage to exploit rising global prices.
