The Kenyan government has ordered One Petroleum Limited to immediately remove a 60,000-metric-tonne consignment of super petrol from the country.

The shipment was imported in contravention of the government-to-government (G-to-G) fuel supply agreement, costing Sh198,000 per metric tonne as opposed to Sh140,000 under the G-to-G framework.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi issued the directive.
The controversy has led to the arrest and subsequent resignation of five senior energy officials, including Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban and former EPRA Director-General Daniel Kiptoo.
