An immigration officer stationed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been released after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) withdrew charges against him.

• The charges were related to alleged facilitation of the illegal exit of two Kenyans.
• The key person involved is John Poriot, the immigration officer.
• The case was withdrawn after the DPP determined it should be handled internally by the Immigration Department.
