A UK coroner's investigation has concluded that the death of British national Edgar Riches, 78, could have been avoided had a driver in President William Ruto's motorcade not been reckless.

• Edgar Riches was fatally hit by a vehicle in the president's motorcade while crossing Ngong Road in Nairobi on March 13, 2025.
• The driver of the vehicle, a white Toyota Prado attached to the Ministry of Interior, pleaded guilty and was fined Sh100,000.
• The Dorset Senior Coroner Brendan Allen cited difficulties in obtaining evidence from outside jurisdictions as a challenge in the inquest.
