An aerial survey is currently underway for a proposed Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) gravity dam at Lowaat in Turkana East Sub-county, a significant step towards boosting regional agricultural productivity and food security.

• The project aims to bring approximately 45,000 acres under commercialized irrigation and an additional 10,000 acres under community-based irrigation.
• The survey is led by Irrigation Secretary for Programmes, Eng. Michael Thuita, and supervised by technical experts Engs Brian Kandie and Enock Tumo.
• The dam is projected to be completed within three years from the commencement of construction, with the aerial survey expected to conclude in one week.
