The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced that Kenyan citizens will be able to access overseas treatment benefits starting April 14, with agreements signed with nine international hospitals.
- A total of nine hospitals in India, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have been approved for treatment.
- The SHA, led by CEO Mercy Mwangangi, will cover treatment costs for procedures not available in Kenya, up to a maximum of Ksh500,000.
- The package includes specialized care at leading institutions such as Acıbadem Healthcare Group hospitals in Turkey, KIMS Hospitals and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre in India, and Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Saudi Arabia.
