The World Bank has approved a significant loan of Sh71 billion to fund the development of the Isiolo-Mandera road corridor.

• The funding will support the rehabilitation of 508 kilometres of road and the rollout of approximately 1,270 kilometres of fibre optic infrastructure.
• Key organizations involved are the World Bank and the Ministry of Roads and Transport.
• This project is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Nairobi and Mandera from three days to one, improving logistics and enhancing cross-border trade with Somalia and Ethiopia.
