Kenyan center Madina Okot has made history by being drafted into the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), becoming the third Kenyan to play in the league.

• Selected 13th overall by the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA Draft held in New York City.
• Okot, originally from Mumias, transitioned from volleyball to basketball and played college ball for the University of Mississippi and University of South Carolina.
• She impressed in her final college season, averaging 12.8 points and a league-leading 10.6 rebounds per game, achieving 22 double-doubles.
