A severe fuel hoarding crisis has gripped parts of Kajiado County, Kenya, leading to petrol being sold at exorbitant prices far exceeding official rates.

• Petrol is retailing for as high as Sh450 per litre, over 250% more than the subsidized price.
• Petrol station owners are accused of hoarding fuel and selling it on the black market, crippling transport along the Namanga Highway.
• The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) maintains prices are unchanged at Sh178.28 for Super Petrol in Nairobi and environs, including Kajiado.
