• The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security is concerned that politically linked gangs are becoming a dangerous norm, potentially leading to lawlessness.
• Committee Vice Chairperson Dido Ali Rasso highlighted recent attacks on leaders, businesspeople, and security officers, noting that such groups are increasingly disrupting public meetings and clashing with law enforcement.
• Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen attributed the problem partly to political leaders who "organise young people into goons instead of creating opportunities for them."
