Origin Labs and Intel Corporation have partnered through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost artificial intelligence (AI) skills and innovation across Africa.

• The initiative aims to address the significant AI skills deficit on the continent, where Africa currently accounts for only about 3% of global AI talent.
• Key collaborators include Origin Labs, led by Lead and Focal Point Professor Ndirangu Kioni, and Intel Corporation, with Country Manager: East Africa Susan Mbogo.
• The collaboration has already supported 30 universities in Kenya, enabling 65 faculty members to deliver AI content and training to students and TVET tutors, with 405 students participating in university hackathons.
