Electric vehicle assembler BasiGo has commenced local assembly of electric vans in Kenya, targeting the matatu sector and other transport services.

• The first batch of 22 locally assembled Ma3e electric vans is expected to be delivered between April and May.
• The initiative is being undertaken by BasiGo in partnership with Associated Vehicle Assemblers in Mombasa.
• These electric vans boast a range of approximately 300 kilometres on a single charge and are designed for various transport needs, including public service vehicles and corporate mobility, aligning with Kenya’s shift towards electric mobility.
