  • The Principal Secretary for TVET, Esther Muoria, announced that graduates will instead wear discipline-specific attire reflecting their practical skills, such as overalls for mechanics and chef uniforms for culinary trainees.
  • This directive, made on Friday, April 18, aims to showcase the vocational nature of TVET programs.
  • The move also coincides with plans to modernize TVET infrastructure, equip institutions with up-to-date tools, and recruit 1,000 additional trainers to accommodate the surge in student population from 350,000 in 2022 to 850,000 currently.
