Members of the Akamba community in Kenya have filed a lawsuit against the United Kingdom, seeking compensation for alleged historical injustices suffered during the colonial era dating back to 1893.

• The lawsuit, filed by Augustus Kyalo Muli, a representative of the Anzauni Clan and a coalition of 21 other Akamba clans, encompasses over 5 million residents.
• The plaintiffs claim that British colonial rule disrupted traditional economic systems, governance, and cultural practices, leading to long-term economic hardship and a loss of community power.
