Amidst planned nationwide fuel protests and concerns over high prices, the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) is urging for peaceful demonstrations and the protection of businesses.

• KAM acknowledged public concern over fuel prices following adjustments by EPRA and the assent of the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which reduced VAT on fuel from 16 per cent to 8 per cent.
• The association stressed that while peaceful assembly is a constitutional right, demonstrations must not endanger lives or lead to the destruction of property and businesses.
• KAM Chief Executive Tobias Alando appealed for constructive engagement, tolerance, nationalism, and peaceful approaches in addressing economic challenges, emphasizing the collective responsibility in preserving peace and socio-economic development.
