✨ Key Highlights

Kenya's National Police Service (NPS) plans to significantly reduce police roadblocks along the Mombasa–Malaba route, aiming to cut lengthy cargo transit times and boost regional trade.

Current cargo transit times of 76 to 80 hours are targeted to be reduced to 36 to 48 hours.
The number of roadblocks will be decreased from 22-27 to fewer than five gazetted stops.
This initiative is led by East African Community Affairs Principal Secretary Caroline Karugu and involves the NPS, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).
