Ukraine's Defence Intelligence (HUR) has identified several Kenyan nationals killed fighting for Russia on the frontline. The announcement follows reports of Kenyan families appealing to the government to locate missing loved ones in Russia.

At least four Kenyans, including Eric Mwangi Nyambura (born 2003), were identified among foreign fighters killed in the Kharkiv region after a Ukrainian mortar strike.
Ukraine's Defence Intelligence (HUR), alongside the hotline project “I want to leave”, identified the deceased fighters.
Kenya's Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi recently met with Russian authorities to discuss the recruitment of Kenyans, with Russia committing to halt further recruitment.
