Ahead of school reopening, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued a crucial safety directive to drivers. The authority is implementing measures to ensure the safe transportation of students on Kenyan roads.

• Drivers are strictly prohibited from allowing students to hang outside moving vehicles or have any body parts protruding.
• The NTSA mandates that all passengers must be properly seated and have their seatbelts fastened before journeys begin.
• Drivers and vehicle owners are responsible for ensuring vehicles used for student transport are in good condition, with valid licences, inspection certificates, Road Service Licences (RSL), and insurance.
