Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco) has cancelled an advertisement for its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position following a legal threat from a law firm. The company had recalled the advert on Thursday, April 24, 2026, without immediate explanation.

• The cancellation is believed to be a response to a protest letter from K.N Ndiang’ui & Co Advocates.
• The law firm argued that Ketraco board members illegally altered statutory requirements for the position.
• A key point of contention was the added requirement for applicants to present a current report from an approved credit reference bureau, which is not stipulated in the Government-Owned Enterprises Act, 2025.
