The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is facing scrutiny for allegedly failing to remit millions in taxes and statutory dues from its staff and suppliers, contradicting President William Ruto's calls for tax compliance.

UDA reportedly failed to remit approximately Sh69.83 million in Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), and Affordable Housing Levy from employee salaries over three years.
An audit report by Auditor-General Nancy Gathungu also indicates the party did not withhold taxes and a capacity building levy from payments totaling Sh219.35 million to suppliers in the 2024/25 financial year.
Party officials attributed the alleged lapses to mismanagement under a previous leadership and claimed current compliance, but critics accuse UDA of hypocrisy.
