Kenya has temporarily relaxed its fuel quality standards by easing sulphur limits for petrol and diesel to prevent potential shortages amid global supply chain disruptions. This measure allows for the importation of slightly lower-quality fuel for a period of six months.

• The government has approved a waiver to increase the sulphur limit to a maximum of 50mg/kg for both diesel and petrol.
