A chilling phone call from controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie lured a Siaya couple to Kwa Bi Nzaro forest, leading to the deaths of their six children who were allegedly starved to death.

• The couple, L.A. and J.O., were convinced by Mackenzie's message, which claimed he "carried the spirits of those who died in Shakahola."
• Mackenzie, along with co-accused Sharleen Temba Anindo and Kazungu Kahindi Garama, are charged with the murder of 52 people in Kwa Bi Nzaro forest.
• The children, aged between one and 16, died between April 3 and April 15, allegedly from prolonged fasting and abuse.
