The Long-Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA) has halted all cargo loading for South Sudan due to severe congestion filling the Elegu border point to capacity.

• LoDDCA has issued an immediate suspension on loading and dispatching cargo destined for South Sudan.
• The strike, entering its sixth day, is driven by rising insecurity along the Nimule–Juba corridor, including a recent incident involving a Kenyan driver and the alleged detention of 10 Kenyan drivers in Yirol.
• Drivers are demanding the release of detained colleagues, investigations, stronger security, and compensation, with the suspension to remain in effect until safety and security conditions are restored.
