Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has introduced a motion that could see former President Uhuru Kenyatta lose significant state-funded benefits if passed.

• The motion questions whether a retired president actively involved in politics should retain government privileges under the Presidential Retirement Benefits Act.
• Key benefits at risk include a monthly pension of Ksh1.4 million (80% of a sitting president's salary), allowances for entertainment, housing, fuel, and utilities, alongside a large support staff and vehicle entitlements.
• Cherargei's proposal also calls for a comprehensive audit of public resources allocated to the former President.
