The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has launched the IGAD Regional Youth Coalition on Climate and Climate-Resilient Agri-Food Systems in Nairobi, Kenya. This new platform aims to empower young people to lead climate action and strengthen food systems across Eastern Africa.

• Over 60 per cent of the IGAD region's population is under 25 years old, and they are disproportionately affected by climate change.
• Key organizations involved include IGAD, the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
• The coalition will mobilize youth, improve access to climate services, promote climate-resilient agriculture, support innovation, and amplify youth voices in climate policy discussions.
