The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) will replace physical vehicle logbooks with a digital system starting June 10, aiming to curb vehicle transfer fraud and eliminate intermediary cartels.

• Under the new eLogbook system, vehicle owners will access logbooks via their eCitizen accounts, with ownership changes reflected instantly online.
• The digital logbooks will feature encrypted security and QR code verification to prevent forgery and facilitate swift confirmation of ownership status for buyers, banks, and insurers.
• This initiative, supported by the World Bank, will integrate with insurance, inspection, and public service vehicle records for easier law enforcement verification and speed up loan approvals for financial institutions.
