A Parliamentary committee has expressed strong disapproval over the low employment rates of persons with disabilities (PLWDs) at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI).

Only 3% of KPA's workforce and 3.7% of KMFRI's workforce are persons with disabilities, falling short of the legal requirement of 5%.
The National Assembly Committee on Cohesion and Equal Opportunities, chaired by Adan Haji, conducted inspections at both institutions.
