The Sololo-Moyale Highway was blocked on Sunday morning by protesting residents following the alleged abduction of two former chiefs and current village elders.

• The protesters barricaded the road with stones and burning tyres, demanding the safe return of the elders.
• The demonstrators implicated the National Police Service and the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, accusing them of failing to address rising abductions and boundary disputes.
• The elders were reportedly taken by masked, unknown individuals and their whereabouts remain unknown since Saturday, May 9.
