Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has alleged a scheme where Kenyan identification documents are being illegally sold to foreign nationals from Somalia at the border with the DRC, near Ndola in Zambia.

• The alleged scheme involves selling Kenyan IDs for a deposit of Ksh77,490 ($600) to Somali nationals who are not Somali Kenyans.
• The allegations were reportedly brought to light by a Kenyan in Zambia and come amid ongoing conflicts in Kitui County.
• Musyoka expressed concern that such practices, along with previous allegations of passports being issued to foreign nationals, pose national security threats and undermine the credibility of Kenyan documents.
