Kenya's construction sector is showing signs of recovery, adjusting to the Export and Investment Promotion Levy on cement clinker. The sector posted 6.8% growth in 2025 after a contraction in 2024.
- Cement consumption rose by 20.3% to 10.3 million tonnes in 2025.
- The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) reported that loans and advances to the sector improved to Sh646.5 billion in 2025.
- Residential housing units completed by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development more than quadrupled to 6,738 units in 2025.
