• The duty, a 400 TSHS per kg excise levy, remains active, with trucks continuing to be charged despite presenting the court order at the border.
• Match Masters Limited, a Kenyan company, filed the case that led to the EACJ injunction.
• The EACJ order aimed to stop the collection of the levy, citing concerns over potential discriminatory treatment of imports, which might breach East African Community trade rules.
