The Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA) has directed former Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to update their records under the newly operationalized Public Benefit Organizations Act, 2013.

• The transition of NGOs to the PBO framework is automatic, effective May 14, 2024.
• Affected organizations, including both national and international bodies, must submit updated records, including revised constitutions, to PBORA.
• No fees will be charged for this mandatory transition process, which aims to strengthen sector oversight and accountability.
