An Electrical Engineering student at Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) in Eldoret testified in court about a horrific acid attack by her former boyfriend, Tonny Kimwetich Kangogo, which occurred on July 28, 2025.

• The victim, Ms Bevaline Jelimo Sum, suffered severe injuries after acid was poured on her neck.
• The accused, Tonny Kimwetich Kangogo, allegedly attacked her after their relationship ended and later attempted to offer financial assistance.
• Her family has incurred over Sh1 million in medical expenses, and they rejected an out-of-court settlement offer.
