The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has strongly protested the recent surge in Kenyan diesel prices, arguing that domestic factors are disproportionately inflating costs beyond global crude oil increases.

• KNCCI highlighted that while international crude oil prices rose by approximately 10.7%, Kenya's diesel prices jumped by 23.5%.
• The KNCCI, led by President Dr Erick Rutto, warned that Kenya now has one of the highest diesel prices in the East African region, impacting competitiveness.
• The Chamber urged the government to review fuel taxes and levies and called for greater transparency from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on fuel price build-ups.
