The Kenya Post Primary Education Teachers Union (KUPPET) has threatened a strike, demanding urgent action from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on several key issues, including mass teacher promotions.

KUPPET is demanding the promotion of approximately 135,000 teachers who have stagnated in their roles for up to 30 years.
The union also seeks the confirmation of 44,000 intern teachers and the full implementation of the 2025-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement by July 2027.
KUPPET also strongly opposes any reduction in hardship allowances, warning it would lead to resistance.
