Kenya is experiencing some of the highest fuel prices in the East African region following a recent review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA). This increase places Kenya's fuel costs significantly above those of its neighbors.

  • Super petrol in Nairobi now retails at Sh214.25 per litre, with diesel at Sh242.92 per litre, which is approximately 28% higher than Uganda's diesel prices.
  • The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) warned that these elevated prices will negatively impact Kenya's competitiveness in sectors like transport and manufacturing.
