Gunmen have kidnapped over 50 schoolchildren, many just toddlers, from three schools in Mussa, Borno state, Nigeria. The attackers reportedly used the young children as human shields.

• More than 50 children, aged two to five, were abducted.
• The kidnappings occurred at Government Day Secondary School, Mussa Central Primary School, and State Universal Basis Education Board (SUBEB) Secondary School.
• Suspected militants arrived on motorcycles shortly after troops left the town, using gunfire to force residents to flee.
