Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of being responsible for the high fuel prices in Kenya. Speaking in London on Tuesday, May 19, Gachagua alleged that the current administration is intentionally burdening Kenyans with increased living costs.

• Gachagua stated that the price of super petrol increased by Sh16.65 per litre and diesel by Sh46.29, pushing prices to Sh214.25 and Sh242.92 respectively.
• The former Deputy President criticized President Ruto, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, Treasury CS John Mbadi, and Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi.
• He also called on the police to protect demonstrators during protests over the high cost of living, which resulted in four deaths and at least 30 injuries.
