The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) will expand the bridge over River Ngarenaro on the Ol Kalou-Nyahururu highway starting August 2026 to improve road user safety.

• Construction is set to begin in August 2026 after a three-month procurement process is completed.
• The expansion, overseen by KeNHA Board Chairperson Winfrida Ngumi, will include new footbridges and increased space for pedestrians and boda boda operators.
• This improvement addresses long-standing safety concerns, as residents have reported frequent accidents and difficulties for children crossing the bridge for over four years.
