The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) has approved a marginal increase in the pipeline tariff charged by the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), adding to the pressure on fuel consumers.
- The KPC pipeline tariff will rise to Sh5.53 per cubic metre per kilometre starting July 15, and further to Sh5.83 in July 2027, from the current Sh5.44.
- Epra, the energy regulator, made this decision after a review of KPC's application for the tariff period 2025/2026–2027/2028.
- This hike follows a series of previous increases in fuel taxes, levies, and oil marketing company margins since 2023, which have collectively raised fuel prices by approximately Sh12 per litre.
