The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is implementing new measures to verify imported vehicles by integrating its systems with Kenya TradeNet and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs system.

The verification process will validate foreign logbooks against approved sources before issuing a Kenyan e-logbook, a move that NTSA states "cannot be bypassed."
NTSA will officially migrate to an e-Logbook system on June 10, 2026, phasing out physical logbooks and moving all services to the cloud via the eCitizen portal.
Under the new system, vehicle owners can view and download digital logbooks for free, and ownership transfers will be completed within one working day.
