A dispute between Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai and two local chiefs has erupted over the alleged proliferation of illegal high-rise developments in Kileleshwa and Kilimani. The conflict intensified when Mr. Alai allegedly disrupted a public participation forum, leading to reports of the chiefs being assaulted.

• Mr. Alai accuses chiefs Joyline Gatakaa (Kileleshwa Chief) and Catherine Wawira (Kilimani Chief) of colluding with developers to manipulate public participation processes for illegal construction.
• The Kileleshwa Ward Neighbourhood Association (Kiwana) condemned the violence and called for constructive dialogue, opposing hyper-densification in the area.
• Mr. Alai has formally requested the suspension and investigation of Chief Gatakaa, alleging she is the "central hub of a well-organized developers’ cartel."
