President William Ruto has launched a three-day tour of development projects in North Kenya ahead of the Madaraka Day celebrations in Wajir. The visit highlights significant investments in infrastructure and public services.

• The President commissioned a KSh639 million solar power plant in Wajir South, part of a larger KSh8.4 billion investment to connect over 53,300 households to electricity in Wajir, Mandera, and Garissa.
• Key initiatives include the upgrading of roads within Habaswein (KSh557 million) and Griftu (KSh1 billion), alongside a pledge to complete the 740km road network under the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project.
• Addressing educational disparities, the government is deploying an additional 100 teachers per constituency and has established four teacher training colleges in Wajir, Garissa, and Mandera, currently enrolling over 4,800 trainees.
