- The initiative targets over 350,000 pastoralists across 21 ASAL counties, with the goal of shifting livestock keeping from subsistence to a globally competitive commercial enterprise.
- Key to the plan is the establishment of County Livestock Investment Companies, allowing pastoralists to own and control their markets and financing.
- Announced on June 1 during the 63rd Madaraka Day celebrations in Wajir County, the plan also includes deploying 2,000 agripreneurs for advisory services. The first phase is expected to benefit over two million household members.
