The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has launched feasibility studies for a major upgrade of the Mau Summit-Eldoret-Malaba highway. This ambitious project aims to significantly enhance transport links and trade efficiency across East Africa.

• The project involves a 245-kilometre stretch of highway valued at approximately Ksh130 billion.
• KeNHA, in partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Development Bank (AIIB), is spearheading the initiative.
• The highway upgrade will be implemented through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), bolstering connectivity between Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
