A 44-year-old former Catholic priest has been arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for allegedly publishing treasonous content on social media advocating for the unlawful overthrow of the government.

• The suspect is accused of outlining a plan for street demonstrations, arson attacks, tax boycotts, and the formation of a parallel transitional administration.
• The DCI apprehended the former priest following a coordinated operation at a hideout in Kirigiti, Kiambu County.
• The suspect, an ordained former Roman Catholic priest, continued to wear clerical attire despite leaving the Roman Catholic Church.
