Eight students are set to enter pleas in relation to the May 28, 2026, dormitory fire at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru County, which claimed the lives of 16 students.

• The fire resulted in the deaths of 16 students and left seven others with burns.
• The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is pursuing the students identified through forensic analysis of CCTV footage.
• Detectives have positively identified seven students involved in the arson attack thus far, with an eighth suspect still being pursued.
