The Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI) is bolstering its readiness for potential Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreaks through intensive training for its Integrated Rapid Response Teams (RRTs).

• The training, also supported by the U.S. Department of State's STRIDES project, is currently underway in Trans Nzoia and Turkana Counties to strengthen county-level capacity.
• Key participants include epidemiologists, clinicians, laboratory personnel, logisticians, risk communication specialists, and psychosocial experts.
• This initiative is particularly crucial as Trans Nzoia County is classified as high-risk due to proximity to Uganda, where an Ebola outbreak is ongoing, declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the WHO.
