The Kerugoya High Court has issued a temporary injunction blocking the rollout of the National Transport and Safety Authority’s (NTSA) Smart driving license and instant traffic fines system.

• The suspension halts a 21-year Public-Private Partnership (PPP) deal between NTSA and Pesa Print Limited.
• The order was issued on May 29th, 2026, following a petition filed by the Road Safety Association of Kenya.
• The proposed system included a new smart driving licence costing Ksh3,050 and automated fines delivered via SMS.
